In short
For cultural art, authentication is less about a signature than about honesty. A buyer should be able to answer four questions with confidence. Who made this? What tradition does it draw on? How was it made? Is the edition what it claims to be? Raknida answers all four in writing, for every work.
Every work on Raknida is by a named artist. Each one names the tradition it draws on and how the artist came to it. That might be birth, upbringing, apprenticeship, a custodial role, long practice or inspiration. Some works draw on no tradition, and say so.
We do not ask whether an artist is entitled to a tradition. We ask whether the borrowing is named. That answer goes on the work's Cultural Passport, and it is what our curators check.
Artists declare every method they used: by hand, digital, AI-assisted or AI-generated. Each declared method is shown on the product page and the Passport, in a fixed order. None is ranked above another.
AI-assisted and AI-generated work is welcome in Studio, Collector and Limited Editions. Using a generative tool is not a fault. An inaccurate declaration is, because a buyer is told how each piece was made. Signature works are made by hand or digitally, without generative AI.
Every work is reviewed by our curators before it goes live. Software can offer a reading, such as whether a file looks consistent with what was declared. It never makes the decision. A curator does.
Where a file carries its own record of the tool that made it, that record counts for more than any reading. A missing record proves nothing, since most platforms strip it.
Every artwork is numbered in its border, assigned in sequence when your order is fulfilled. Studio Editions run to 20 per size and Collector Editions to 10. Limited Editions are capped at 5 per size and never rerun. Studio and Collector sizes may be rerun once they sell out, always labelled as a new run. Their numbers count the works sold through Raknida. Collector and Limited Editions add a certificate of authenticity.
A collector wants to know what they own. A hotel or workplace wants a story it can stand behind, with documents that hold up. Transparent provenance serves both, and it protects the artist too.
