Why Raknida

Built for properties that take cultural identity as seriously as the food.

  • Curated for the property

Every program is built for the property's identity: its guests, its design language and the role art plays in the space.

  • Named artists

Artists working in living cultural traditions, today mostly Nigerian, Ghanaian, Ugandan and African Diaspora, with a 55% profit share to artists.

  • Project capability

Multi-room programs, sizes from intimate to monumental, framed or unframed. Delivery and installation coordinated with your team.

  • A Cultural Passport with every work

A printed 5 × 7 in card for every work: the tradition, the artist's voice and the curatorial context. A story your guests can read on the wall.

On request

  • Murals and wallcoverings

Artists' works licensed as murals, wallcoverings and glass graphics, produced for your spaces. Each artist approves how their work is adapted.

How a project unfolds

From first call to installed work.

Six stages, paced to your opening date. Every signed project starts with a 50% deposit; the balance follows approval and delivery.

  1. Discovery

A complimentary 45–60 minute conversation about your property, your guests and your design language. No proposal yet.

  2. Curatorial proposal

Within two to three weeks: a concept, 12–24 selected works with artist context, placements and quantities, timeline and indicative pricing.

  3. Iteration

We refine the selection together: works, sizes, finishes or scope. Expect one or two rounds.

  4. Agreement

A standard Master Services Agreement and a Statement of Work. The 50% deposit on signing secures production capacity.

  5. Production

Archival printing by our fine-art print partner. Each work is proofed and approved before the final run; its Passport is prepared alongside.

  6. Delivery and installation

Delivery scheduled to your install date, installation coordinated with your team, placement guidance for every work. The balance is due on delivery and acceptance.

Questions

Why a 50% deposit?

It secures production capacity and the artists' commitment to your dates. The balance is paid in two milestones, each after your written approval.

How many works does a program include?

Proposals usually set 12–24 works, each placed across guest rooms, lobby and dining as the design calls for. Your scope sets the final count.

Can you commission original work?

Yes, through Signature, which covers originals and commissions under its own agreement. We discuss feasibility on the first call.

What if a work arrives damaged?

Every work is checked with your team at delivery and acceptance. Anything damaged in transit is replaced under the project's Master Services Agreement.

Can one work hang in every guest room?

Yes, where the artist agrees. For guest rooms we print a Project Edition: the same work, numbered for your project and never sold in the shop. Limited works never repeat, so we pair them with complementary works or commission new pieces.
