How it works →
Missus is what you call the woman of the house, and Ai_mayor gives her the bearing to match. She has two neat buns crowning her head and a pink dahlia opening behind them like a halo. A hand rests on her shoulder, though whose hand it is he leaves unsaid.

Her face is drawn in black and white, with diagonal bars of shadow falling across it as if light were coming through blinds. Everything around her is colour. There is a peach sky darkening to violet, a scatter of pink and teal specks, and vertical stripes at the base of the picture. That contrast is how Mayowa Enoch Aiyedogbon builds his portraits, the figure half-hidden and half-revealed inside the layers. Look at the hand on her shoulder. It turns a portrait of composure into a portrait of company.
